UFC welterweights look to get back on track
A welterweight bout between Charlie Brenneman (14-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Daniel Roberts (12-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) has been added to the UFC’s first event on the FX network.
Roberts first released the information via his personal Twitter account. Sources close to the bout confirmed the news with Heavy.com.
UFC on FX 1 airs Jan. 20 and takes place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. It is headlined by a lightweight fight between former contenders Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard.
Brenneman will look to get back into the winner’s circle after being knocked out by Anthony Johnson at UFC on Versus 6. Prior to that setback, he’d scored the biggest win of his career when he beat Rick Story at UFC on Versus 4.
Roberts will likely be looking to save his career in the UFC with a win, having lost consecutive fights to Rich Attonito and Claude Patrick.
