In just its second season as a full-fledged member of the FBS, South Alabama (6-6) made it to a bowl. And the Jaguars get to play in-state, about 2 hours from their home in Mobile. Not a bad way to get your feet wet in the bowl game life.

Even more reason to be optimistic is quarterback Brandon Bridge. Bridge returned from an ankle injury that hampered him most of November to throw 4 touchdowns in a close loss to Navy in the regular-season finale.

For Bowling Green (7-6), James Knapke has thrown for 2,805 yards and Travis Greene has rushed for 10 touchdowns with 908 yards.

ESPN will air the Camellia Bowl at 9:15 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. Dave Lamont is on play-by-play with Joey Galloway on analysis. Sideline reporting will be handled by Paul Carcaterra.
