NASCAR makes its first stop in the Midwest this season with this weekend’s Sprint Cup Series SpongeBob SquarePants 400 from Kansas Speedway.

The 5-year-old race, formerly known as the STP 400 and last year as the 5-Hour Energy 400, is set for Saturday night from the 1.5-mile track in Kansas City, Kansas.

The race will be televised by FOX Sports 1 and has a scheduled green flag time for approximately 7:46 p.m. Eastern.

Jeff Gordon is the defending champion as he held off Kevin Harvick in the 2014 5-Hour Energy 400.

The SpongeBob 400 is the last race before the All-Star weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 15-16.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. is coming off his first win of the season, a victory last weekend in the Geico 500 at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama.
