In a battle of franchise quarterbacks, you don’t want to see either get hurt. It’s already happened in the opening quarter, when Raiders QB Derek Carr was forced to leave the game on the team’s opening drive.

After the Raiders punted, Carr re-entered the game for Oakland. He missed one offensive snap.

Carr was replaced by Matt McGloin. He went down after a hit by Titans end DaQuan Jones. McGloin, who is in the third year, started briefly for the Raiders in 2013 but has spent the majority of the last two seasons as a backup.

Quarterback pressure was going to be an interesting factor heading into this game. The Titans are one of the league’s best pass-rushing teams, sacking the QB 31 times this season. Meanwhile the Raiders are one of the best pass-protection teams, having only let Derek Carr get sacked 13 times.

The Tennessee Titans are no strangers to seeing Quarterbacks go down. Marcus Mariota was already hurt once this season, after a low hit against the Miami Dolphins. He suffered a knee injury that forced him to miss two weeks earlier this season.
