The Washington Redskins have been very bad on the road. The Chicago Bears have been just as bad at home. The Redskins play at the Bears on Sunday afternoon and someone is going to have to find a way to win.

Oh, and as an added bonus, both teams come into the Week 14 tilt fresh off, respectively, their toughest losses of the season. So, yeah, this one is going to be interesting.

The Bears, by virtue of being at home, come into the matchup as 3.5-point favorites according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. Despite the 0-3 start to the season and last week’s OT loss, Chicago has found a way to pull some success out of the year and quarterback Jay Cutler has quietly put together a strong season. In fact, he’s closing in on his seventh 3,000-yard passing season and currently sits at 2,712 yards.

Chicago is 4-1 ATS in its last five games, but its history against the Redskins doesn’t foster a lot of betting confidence. The Bears are 1-5 ATS in their last six games against Washington and a dismal 0-5 SU in that same stretch.

On the flip side, the Redskins’ road performance this season has been nothing short of abysmal. Washington is 0-5 SU in its last five games on the road and 1-6 ATS in its last seven games away from FedEx Field. In fact, Washington owns the longest active road losing streak in the entire NFL. That is not good news when you’re going after a playoff berth.

So, how do the Redskins notch a victory on Sunday? Kirk Cousins. The Washington quarterback has thrown for seven touchdowns and just one interception over his last four games and needs to notch another stellar performance to keep his squad in the playoff hunt.

The total for the Week 14 matchup between Chicago and Washington is set at 44 points according to the sportsbooks. The total has gone UNDER in four of the Redskins last five games on the road against Chicago. It has also gone UNDER in seven of the Bears last 10 games.

The OddsShark computer is predicting a 29.8 – 14.6 Chicago victory.
