The NFL announced that Coldplay will headline the Super Bowl 50 halftime show. The NFL was set to announce the news at halftime of the Lions and Packers game but the news leaked earlier in the day.
As word spread about Coldplay’s upcoming performance, speculation began as to who will join the British band at Super Bowl 50. US Weekly reported that Bruno Mars will be involved in the show as well.
Beyoncé has a song with Coldplay on their new album and reports indicate she is “in talks” to be part of the show as well.
Coldplay’s new album “Head Full of Dreams” will be released on December 4, 2015. Super Bowl 50 is at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
