Brock Lesnar’s SummerSlam 2016 opponent has just been revealed. The official announcement will be made on Thursday’s episode of SmackDown, but as this has already aired in Canada, spoilers have now emerged.

According to WrestleZone, Lesnar will face Randy Orton at SummerSlam.

This was expected by many WWE fans, as Randy Orton has been due for his return sometime in the next few months. He’s currently on hiatus after sustaining an injury last year, but Inquisitr previously reported that Orton is expected to head over to the WWE Performance Center next week.

It wasn’t entirely clear whether Orton would make it back in time for SummerSlam, though. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had reported that Orton’s comeback might be a bit delayed because it seemed as if his injury was not yet fully healed.

“The original time line was that he was going to be in Orlando in mid-June, train a few weeks and be ready right now,” the newsletter reported. ”His shoulder is still not 100% although it is improving.”

Thankfully, though, we will indeed get to see Orton face off against Lesnar at the SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 21.

Speaking of SummerSlam, another rumor is that we might see a match between Triple H and Seth Rollins at the pay-per-view event. A feud between the two would occur after Rollins fails to recapture his WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Battleground next month. Fans will recall that Triple H himself gained the title after Rollins vacated it due to injury, so in that sense a feud between the two would make sense.
