The rich get richer as the favorites to win the National Championship, the Indiana Hoosiers, have just landed the best quarterback in the NCAA transfer portal.
Former TCU Horned Frogs quarterback Josh Hoover has signed with the Indiana Hoosiers, Pete Nakos of On3 reports.
Hoover is a redshirt junior and has started the past three seasons for TCU. In his three years, he has thrown for the most yards of any active quarterback in college football with 9,629.
As a sophomore last year, he finished just 51 yards shy of 4,000 yards on the season.
This year, Hoover threw for 3,473 yards and a career-high 29 touchdowns with 13 interceptions in 12 games. He brought TCU to a 9-4 finish in back-to-back seasons and helped head coach Sonny Dykes earn a bowl win in two straight seasons.
Hoover has two years of eligibility remaining and will be the heir to reigning Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza’s throne.
This will mark the third straight season that head coach Curt Cignetti will start a transfer portal quarterback.
The previous two have worked out pretty well.
