Sam Burns and wife Caroline Burns are in the midst of a major life change as the PGA Tour golfer surges up the Masters leaderboard. The couple is expecting their second child in July. Sam and Caroline are the proud parents of one son, Bear.
Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis revealed that there are a lot of similarities between Sam and good friend Scottie Scheffler. The golf star and wife Meredith Scheffler welcomed their second son, Remy, to the world before the Masters.
Sam and Caroline will soon join the Schefflers as two-child parents.
“(Sam) has learned a lot from Scottie, especially in practice rounds,” Lewis noted in an April 9, 2026, episode of “Live From the Masters.” “They kind of mimic each others’ lives. Scottie, this last month, he and his wife Meredith, had their second child, a boy.
“Caroline, Sam Burns’ wife, well, they’re about to have their second child as well, and they already have a boy. His name is Bear. We will find out in July when the baby is born.”

Sam Burns’ Wife Caroline Burns Was the PGA Tour Golfer’s 1st Valentine at 5 Years Old
Caroline and Sam grew up together long before they were actually an item. During a 2019 interview with WJCL, Caroline revealed that she was the golfer’s first valentine when Sam was just five years old.
“We grew up in the same hometown but went to different schools and so we didn’t start dating until college,” Caroline said at the time. “But (we have) really known each other forever and… I was his first valentine when we were five years old. So, that’s our sweet story.”

As the couple celebrated their second anniversary in 2021, Sam took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message about his bride. Sam called Caroline “the most beautiful person I know.”
“I couldn’t imagine doing life without you,” Sam said in the December 14, 2021, Instagram post. “Here’s to many more memories together with the most beautiful person I know inside and out. I love you, Caroline Burns!”
Sam Burns Was Tied for the Masters Lead After Round 1
It is shaping up to be a good year for the PGA golfer. Sam headed into the second round of the Masters tied for the lead.
Ahead of the tournament, Sam discussed what it is like to play the iconic Amen Corner at Augusta National.
“Yeah, I think it’s obviously a difficult stretch,” Sam told reporters on April 7. “You know, I think the main thing is just trusting the wind.
“A lot of times it can swirl around and you can get confused, so really just trusting that and trying to execute. I think it tries to make you uncomfortable, and so the most important thing is trying to execute and accept whatever outcome you get.”
There is still plenty of golf remaining, but Sam’s hot start gives him a chance to be in contention for a green jacket this weekend.
