Tiger Woods has been involved in a roll over car crash, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed, according to ABC News. The accident occurred on Friday, March 27, just after 2 p.m. local time in Woods’ home town of Jupiter, Florida.

Details about the crash weren’t immediately made clear. It’s unknown if there were any injuries in the accident, or what might have caused it. The Martin County Sheriff’s Department is planning to hold a press conference at 5 p.m. Eastern. today.

An eyewitness told TMZ that it looked like two cars were involved in the accident and that no one was seriously injured. The source said that they saw Woods, 50, on the scene and he “appeared to be okay.”

WPTV shared a photo from the scene, a black vehicle was on its side. A tow truck had arrived and there were at least two police cars in the pic. No other emergency vehicles were in view.

Tiger Woods’ Car Accident Occurred Days After He Made His 2026 TGL Debut

Woods has been recovering from back surgery over the past several months. He played in the TGL finals on Tuesday, March 24, marking his 2026 debut in the indoor simulator league. The outing, though highly anticipated, didn’t play out the way Woods had hoped, and his Jupiter Links GC team lost to Los Angeles.

“We got our ass kicked at the end,” Woods said after the game, according to ESPN. “Three eagles in a row. … I missed a short one to give them momentum, and we never got it back.”

In recent weeks, Woods has been contemplating a return, possibly competing in the upcoming Masters.

“I want to play. I love the tournament,” Woods said after his TGL round. “I’m going to be there either way with The Loop that’s going up there, as well as the Champions Dinner. … We’ll see how it goes. I’ll be practicing, playing at home this week and keep trying to make progress.”

Tiger Woods Was Involved in Another Accident in 2021

Back in February 2021, Woods was injured in a single-car crash in Southern California, when his vehicle rolled over several times, leaving him trapped inside, according to ABC News. Authorities estimated that the crash was caused by high speeds, estimating that Woods was driving around 84 to 87 mph.

After sustaining leg injuries, Woods underwent surgery due to a fracture in his right leg. According to ESPN, Woods “had a rod placed in a tibia, and had screws and pins inserted in his foot and ankle during emergency surgery. He had at least one more surgery related to injuries from the crash in April 2023.”

Back in 2017, Woods was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI in Palm Beach County.
