Swanson’s MLB Background
Swanson was the first pick in the 2015 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt.
He spent the first seven years of his career with the Atlanta Braves.
In that span, Swanson made one All-Star Game (and helped the franchise win the 2021 World Series over the Astros).
Swanson signed with the Cubs before the 2023 season.
He made the All-Star Game in his first year with the franchise, but he is only batting .239 over 503 games since the signing.
The Cubs will need the 32-year-old to get back to form if they want to make a deep run this season.

The Cubs got off to a strong start to the 2026 season, but have been struggling as of late.
They are the second-place team in the National League Central with a 29-21 record in 50 games.
Over their last ten games, the Cubs have gone just 2-8.
That said, they are an outstanding 18-8 in the 26 games they have played at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
