Also on Friday, news came out that a former Guardians pitcher is signing with the New York Yankees.
Jon Heyman of The New York Post wrote: “Eli Morgan to Yankees. MILB deal.”
Morgan had most recently been with the Kansas City Royals earlier this season.
He appeared in 16 games.

Morgan was picked in the 8th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Guardians.
He spent the first four years of his career with the franchise.
In 2022, Morgan went 5-3 with a 3.38 ERA in 50 games.
Following his run in Cleveland, Morgan spent the 2025 season with the Chicago Cubs (before the Royals this year).
Over 184 career games, the 30-year-old has gone 18-14 with a 4.25 ERA.
