The San Francisco Giants concluded a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox in Fenway Park on Sunday.
The Giants got swept after losing the series finale 5-4. San Francisco is 3-14 in their last 17 games. They have lost seven consecutive series.
San Francisco will return to Oracle Park to play a three-game set against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.
Giants Reveal Probable Pitchers for Cincinnati Reds Series
The Giants revealed the three pitchers they are starting ahead of their series against the Reds.
Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reported on Sunday: “Giants are sliding Adrian Houser back into the rotation on Tuesday. Carson Whisenhunt starts Monday and Landen Roupp on Wednesday. Houser has pitched well recently, and they’re also scrambling a bit the next couple weeks because of a doubleheader and the makeup game in Atlanta.”
Giants’ left-handed pitcher Carson Whisenhunt will start the series opener on Monday against star Reds pitcher Chase Burns.
Whisenhunt has struggled since joining the Giants. He has a 3-4 record with a 7.03 ERA in 7 starts.
Right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser will rejoin the starting rotation on Tuesday. The 10-year veteran came out of the bullpen in the Giants’ 1-0 shutout win against the Cleveland Guardians. He threw 5 shutout innings and recorded 3 strikeouts.
San Francisco right-handed pitcher Landen Roupp will get the start in the series finale on Wednesday. The 27-year-old has struggled recently after showing promise early in the season.
Roupp has lost each of his last five starts. He currently owns a 7-13 record and 4.34 ERA.

Adrian Houser Rejoins the Giants’ Starting Rotation
Houser was part of the Giants’ Opening Day rotation. However, the veteran pitcher struggled early in the season. The right-hander held a 2-6 record and 5.73 ERA through his first 14 starts before being moved to the bullpen.
San Francisco has mainly used Houser as a long relief man. But they have recently used an opener, allowing Houser to go deeper into games.
Despite trading starting pitchers Tyler Mahle and Robbie Ray, the Giants decided to keep Houser in his long relief role.
Since his move to the bullpen on Jun. 26, the 9-year veteran has recorded a 1.50 ERA in 42 innings pitched.
It will be interesting to see if the Giants decide to keep Houser in the starting rotation or move him back to where he has been the most effective.
The 33-year-old is signed with the Giants through the 2027 season. San Francisco will owe him $11 million next year.

What’s Next for the Giants
The Giants will start a four-game series against NL West rival Arizona Diamondbacks for a four-game series at home on Thursday after their three-game series against the Reds.
It includes a doubleheader on Saturday and an off day on Sunday.
San Francisco currently owns a 52-78 record (29-33 at home). They hold the second-worst record in the National League.
The Giants need to win at least 11 of their last 32 games to avoid a 100-loss season.
