Scherzer is in his second season with the Blue Jays, and he is coming off a year where he helped the franchise reach the 2025 World Series.
In two starts this year, the 41-year-old has gone 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA.
Scherzer’s Legendary MLB Career
Scherzer was the 11th pick in the 2006 MLB Draft.
He spent the first seven years of his career playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers.
After making two All-Star Games in Detroit, Scherzer went on to have a sensational six-and-a-half-year run with the Washington Nationals.
In that span, Scherzer made the All-Star Game six times (and won the 2019 World Series).
Scherzer then had stops with the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets and Texas Rangers before joining the Blue Jays in 2025.
He was able to win another World Series (with the Rangers) in 2023.
Over 485 games, the three-time Cy Young Award Winner has gone 222-118 with a 3.22 ERA.

The Blue Jays have gone 5-7 in their first 12 games, which has them as the fourth-place team in the American League East.
They are 5-4 in the nine games they have played at home.
