After spending the past few seasons trying to carve out a long-term role in the NBA, former Chicago Bulls guard Mac McClung is officially exiting the league.
According to an official announcement from FIATC Girona, McClung is set to join the Spanish ACB squad for the 2026-2027 season.
After the news became official, McClung took to social media to send a two-word message to his followers.

“New chapter ❤️,” the veteran guard wrote on the social media platform X.
It’s a big moment for McClung, who has avoided the overseas route despite gaining plenty of interest over the years.
The 27-year-old has spent the past five years playing mostly in the NBA G League. He had two stints with the Bulls throughout his NBA run.

After playing high school hoops in his hometown of Gate City, Virginia, McClung started his college career at Georgetown in 2018.
Following his sophomore season, McClung joined Texas Tech for the 2020-2021 NCAA season. He averaged 15.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 29 games.

McClung went undrafted in the NBA in 2021. He started his career in the NBA G League with the Los Angeles Lakers‘ affiliate. The Chicago Bulls gave McClung his first opportunity outside of the G League in 2021.
Since then, McClung has played for the Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and the Indiana Pacers.
Last year, McClung returned to the Bulls on a two-way contract. He played in eight games with the primary roster, averaging 12.6 minutes off the bench.
McClung’s hoops resume includes being a three-time NBA Slam Dunk Champion, an NBA G League Champion, a two-time NBA G League MVP, and a three-time All-NBA G League First Team.
