Thursday night’s Game 6 win for the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Denver Nuggets might’ve meant a little more to the veteran guard, Bones Hyland.

Considering Hyland started his career with the Nuggets, the 25-year-old guard saw the rivalry series as a revengeful opportunity for himself. After he took advantage, Hyland took to social media to send his former club a message.

The Hyland run in Denver was short-lived. When the Delaware-born guard entered the NBA, he was a 26th overall pick out of VCU.

Hyland started off strong with the Nuggets. He averaged 19.0 minutes off the bench as a rookie. Hyland shot 40.3% fro the field, producing 10.1 points per game.

In year two, Hyland saw the court for 19.5 minutes off the bench in 42 games. He produced 12.1 points per game, shooting 39.9% from the field. Ahead of the 2023 NBA trade deadline, Hyland was involved in a trade that sent him to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Hyland found his way to the Timberwolves in 2025. He was traded before the February deadline that year. In year two with the Wolves, Hyland appeared in 71 games. He produced averages of 8.5 points and 2.6 assists.

As the first-round series between the Nuggets and the Timberwolves played out, Hyland had a role off the bench in all six games. He put up 7.2 points per game, while shooting 41.2% from the field. The Timberwolves took down the Nuggets 4-2 in upset fashion.

Hyland has already surpassed his career-high in playoff performances. He’ll get a chance to continue building on it.
