On Friday night, the Golden State Warriors will be at home to host the Washington Wizards in San Francisco.

The Warriors are coming off a 109-106 win over the Brooklyn Nets (also at home).

Al Horford did not play in the game (and has been out since the middle of the month).

Before Friday’s game, the Warriors announced an update on Horford.

Danny Emerman of The San Francisco Standard wrote: “Steph Curry will be re-evaluated next week, ruling him out from Sunday’s game in Denver, per Warriors. It’ll be at least 25 missed games for Curry either way that runner’s knee.

Al Horford (calf) will miss at least another week. Seth Curry and Quinten Post are day-to-day.”

Horford signed with the Warriors over the offseason.

He is averaging 8.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 42.4% from the field and 36.0% from three-point range in 43 games.

In addition to the Warriors, Horford has also spent time with the Hawks, Celtics, Thunder and 76ers.

Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints wrote (on September 30): “Al Horford’s contract details with the Warriors:

Year 1: $5.7M Year 2: $6.3M (player option)

Two-year, $12M contract with a player option for the 26-27 season, as reported by @MikeAScotto.”

Horford has been one of many Warriors players dealing with injuries this season.

They have been struggling over the last month, and are currently the 10th seed in the Western Conference with a 35-38 record in 73 games.

Over their last ten games they have gone 3-7 (but they have won two in a row).

Following the Wizards, the Warriors will play their next game on Sunday when they visit Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets in Colorado.

The Warriors are coming off a season where they lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the NBA playoffs.

They last won a title in 2022.

This season, the Warriors will still have a chance to do something, as they clinched a spot in the 2026 Play-In Tournament.
