Steve Kerr Made His Feelings Clear About Lakers Star LeBron James

On Saturday, the NBA world will be tuned in to watch the Golden State Warriors host the Los Angeles Lakers.

LeBron James has a long history of battles with the Warriors, including four different NBA Finals meetings (2015-19) when he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Steve Kerr Made His Feelings Clear About LeBron James

Before the game, Steve Kerr did an interview with Willard And Dibs (and he was asked about James and Steph Curry). 

Kerr: “Both guys are just such amazing symbols and players and voices for our league…Getting the chance to coach LeBron two years ago in the Olympics was such a thrill and to really get to know how committed he is, how passionate he is about the game, the preparation, everything that goes into it. The league has just been incredibly fortunate to have those two guys as the faces of the league.”

LeBron James Still Doing It At 41

Even at 41, James is still a top player, who comes into the showdown with respectable averages of 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 49.8% from the field and 29.9% from three-point range in 40 games.

The NBA legend was the first pick in the 2003 draft out of high school.

He is in his eighth season playing for the Lakers (after stints with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat).

NBA Fantasy wrote (on Friday): “LeBron James needs 26 FGs to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (15,837) for 1st all-time 👑”

The matchup will have a little less juice due to the fact that the two-time MVP (Curry) has been ruled out.

He has yet to appear in a game all month.

The Lakers are currently the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 34-24 record in 58 games.

They are 18-12 in 30 games on the road.

Trevor Lane of Lakers Nation Wrote: “On the season, LeBron, Luka, and Reaves are now a -3.3 when on the floor together. That’s a big positive jump from where it was a few games ago, though obviously there is still a lot of work to do.”

Meanwhile, Golden State is the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 31-28 record in 59 games.

They are 19-11 in the 30 games they have played at the Chase Center.
