Following a major win on the road in Washington, DC, the Philadelphia 76ers have returned home to host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday, April 3.
The 76ers have a notable benefit on Friday, considering they had a day of rest. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are closing out a back-to-back set, after taking on a loss against the Eastern Conference’s top team, the Detroit Pistons.
Heading into the game, the Sixers and the Timberwolves could both find themselves shorthanded.
Recently, both teams had star players take a night off.
For the Sixers, Joel Embiid missed their Wednesday night outing against the Washington Wizards.
The Timberwolves played without Anthony Edwards in Detroit.
Minnesota hasn’t made an initial decision on Edwards’ status just yet, but the Sixers have revealed that Joel Embiid’s status is in jeopardy.

The Sixers have three players listed on the injury report for Friday’s action against Minnesota: Johni Broome, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey.
Broome continues to recover from a right knee surgery. The rookie wasn’t given an exact timeline for his return, but all signs are pointing to his season being over.
Tyrese Maxey is listed, but he isn’t expected to miss the action. Barring any unexpected changes, Maxey is going to be available for the Sixers on Friday.
Joel Embiid offers some concern for the Sixers. After he missed Wednesday’s action due to an illness, Embiid is listed as doubtful for Friday’s action.

Where The Sixers Stand Before Hosting The Timberwolves
The Sixers enter the Friday night matchup as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
The win over the Wizards on Wednesday allowed for them to jump the Toronto Raptors in the standings. However, the two teams are tied up. Each game going forward is key for the Sixers, who want to avoid the NBA Play-In Tournament.
The Sixers and the Timberwolves are scheduled for a 7 PM ET tip.
