The Dallas Cowboys fan base has been reading about trade proposals involving Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby for months. That doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox offered his latest NFL trade proposal Saturday that sent Crosby to the Cowboys.

Knox proposed Dallas send a 2027 first-rounder, 2027 second-round pick and 2028 third-rounders to the Raiders for Crosby.

“It wouldn’t be a total shock if the Raiders get offers that are difficult to refuse after the draft—when teams seeking a pass-rusher may have missed out. One team to watch is Dallas, which made multiple offers for Crosby earlier this offseason,” wrote Knox.

“Dallas eventually acquired Rashan Gary from Green Bay, but if the Cowboys can’t add pass-rushing help in the draft, they could make a strong push to pair Gary and Crosby together. The Raiders, sensing a chance to put more offense pieces around presumed No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, just might listen.”

Could Cowboys Really Still Trade for Edge Rusher Maxx Crosby?

There are actually a couple NFL trade proposals that aren’t going away for the Cowboys this offseason. Another popular one over the past month involves Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen.

These trade proposals remain popular not just because fans seem to enjoy reading about the hypotheticals. The Cowboys haven’t addressed edge rusher or linebacker strongly enough for pundits to completely rule out more potential additions at either position.

Crosby is the best edge rusher the Cowboys could acquire this offseason. He’s averaged about 10 sacks per season over the course of his entire career.

Over the past five years, Crosby has made the Pro Bowl each campaign and earned two second-team All-Pro nominations.

Last season, he registered 10 sacks with a career-high 28 tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hits. He also had six pass defenses, two forced fumbles and an interception.

Crosby would upgrade the Cowboys run defense and pass rush. Dallas finished the 2025 campaign ranked tied for 22nd in sacks, 23rd in run defense, and last in pass defense.

Unlike linebacker, at least at edge rusher, the Cowboys have made an addition. As Knox mentioned, Dallas acquired Rashan Gary from the Green Bay Packers.

Gary made the Pro Bowl for Green Bay with 7.5 sacks in 2024. Last season, he registered 7.5 sacks again with seven tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hits. But including the playoffs, Gary went the final 10 games of the campaign without a sack.

In NFL free agency, the Cowboys also added defensive ends Otito Ogbonnia and Jonathan Bullard. But obviously, neither player is close to the type of defensive playmaker Crosby is.

Last season, Jadeveon Clowney led the Cowboys with 8.5 sacks. But Clowney left in NFL free agency.

Behind Clowney, James Houston was second on the team with 5.5 sacks. Houston will return along with Donovan Ezeiruaku, Marist Liufau, Sam Williams, Tyrus Wheat and Isaiah Land.
