Tottenham is fighting with West Ham not to be relegated in the Premier League standings.

The Premier League relegation standings always add a bit of spice to the bottom of the table during the end of the EPL season but rarely is a storied club like Tottenham in danger. Heading into the Spurs‘ final three games, Tottenham is just one point from being tied for the final relegation spot.

Prior to the Tottenham-Leeds match, the Spurs were one point ahead of West Ham in the Premier League standings. Following the Leeds game, Tottenham faces Chelsea and Everton to end the season.

Tottenham received a bit of help following West Ham’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal. West Ham closes the season against Newcastle and Leeds as the team attempts to jump Tottenham in the standings.

Unfortunately, Burnley and the Wolves have already secured their spots as two teams that will be relegated. This leaves one more team that will be relegated as West Ham and Tottenham fight not to win this battle.

There is good news for Tottenham supporters as the Spurs hold a sizable lead in the goal differential. This means that West Ham likely needs to hop Tottenham in the Premier League standings, not just tie.

Let’s take a look at the current Premier League standings at the bottom of the table.

Tottenham Manager Roberto de Zerbi on Relegation: ‘I Don’t Want People Close to Me Crying’

The good news for Tottenham is West Ham is a heavy favoirte to be the team relegated. Kalshi gives West Ham an 85% chance to be relegated, while Tottenham has just a 14% chance to be sent down in the latest odds.

Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi discussed the team’s mindset as the club attempts to secure their spot in the Premier League for next season.

“The most important challenge now is to silence the voice inside of us, inside of the players, inside the staff and the fans,” De Zerbi remarked, per BBC.

“This voice produces negative thoughts and the voice says we are unlucky, we have too many injuries. … It’s like we’re all crying and relegated. No, not yet. We have to die on the pitch,” De Zerbi added.

“We have to play, we have to fight, we have two points less than West Ham (Tottenham now has a one point advantage). They have to play a difficult game like us. It’s not the best moment for us, a tough moment, but the losers cry, they think negative and I don’t want people close to me crying or to think a different way than me.”

Fans will find out in a matter of weeks if Tottenham will survive. For the neutral soccer fans, Tottenham being in peril has created one of the more exciting relegation battles in recent memory to end the Premier League season.
