‘Pokemon Go’ Fest: How to Get a Refund & Lugia

Niantic

Even if you’re really excited about Niantic’s decision to give a Legendary Lugia to every player who attended the Festival today, you’ll still want to make sure you don’t miss out on your refund and PokeCoins. So how do you get your refund, your PokeCoins, and Lugia?

Niantic is going to send everyone who attended an email that explains in detail how to get the refund. Meanwhile, the $100 in PokeCoins will be automatically credited to your account.

However, there’s just one catch. In order for Niantic to know who you are in order to send you Lugia, your refund, and your PokeCoins, they must know that you attended. That means that you’ll want to make sure you scanned the QR code that you got when you bought your ticket.

Niantic is trying to make this easier for players, since not everyone was able to get their QR codes scanned today.

Through Monday morning, within a two mile radius of the Festival, PokeStops will be enabled to scan your QR code. That means that if you haven’t had your QR code scanned yet, you can go to any of those PokeStops and get a QR code scanned there. The opportunity will be available until Monday morning.

So make sure you don’t miss out on getting your QR code scanned, to make sure you get everything Niantic is sending to trainers who bought tickets and attended today. Lugia is also being sent to everyone who successfully checked in, so that means you’ll need your QR code scanned to get Lugia too. So even if the refund isn’t important to you, you’ll want to scan your QR code so you don’t miss out on the Legendary Pokemon.

We will update this story as more information is available.
