Holcomb agreed to a revised contract Thursday and will remain with the Steelers this coming season, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Prior to the adjustment, Holcomb was set to count $7.6 million against the salary cap, per Gerry DulacPittsburgh Post-Gazette, but the move will evidently save the Steelers $4 million against the cap and keep the linebacker with the team for his third consecutive season. The 28-year-old hasn't played since suffering a severe knee injury during Week 9 of the 2023 season, which some speculated could have been career threatening. Holcomb was fully practicing before the team's wild-card loss to the Ravens, so it's presumed he'll be available at the start of training camp next year.

Latest Steelers News
Cole Holcomb : Restructures contract
Jaylen Warren : Will receive RFA tender
Steelers GM Omar Khan said Tuesday that Warren will receive a restricted free agent tender and likely stay with the team in 2025, Dale Lolley of the Steelers' official site reports. The real question is whether Warren gets a second-round tender ($5.2 million) or an original-round tag ($3.19 million). He went undrafted back in 2022, which means the latter wouldn't involve any draft compensation if he signed with another team and the Steelers declined to match the contract offer. A second-round tender, on the other hand, would ensure that Warren stays in Pittsburgh unless he's traded, as no team is going to give up a top-64 pick for the right to hand him a large contract. The second big question is what happens with Najee Harris, who is scheduled for unrestricted free agency after starting his career with four straight seasons of more than 1,000 rushing yards but less than 4.2 yards per carry.
Roman Wilson : Has GM’s confidence
Steelers general manager Omar Khan said Tuesday at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine that he has "a lot of confidence" in Wilson (hamstring), and that the wideout was on pace to contribute during the postseason had Pittsburgh advanced beyond the wild-card round, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Wilson, a 2024 third-round pick, was limited to a single regular-season appearance in his rookie campaign, but he at least now appears fully recovered from the hamstring issue that caused him to end the year on IR. He also missed time early in the season due to an ankle injury sustained in training camp. If he can put together a strong offseason and remain at full health to enter the 2025 campaign, he could face notable opportunities Year 2. Wideouts Van Jefferson, Mike Williams and Ben Skowronek are all pending free agents for Pittsburgh.
George Pickens : May consider hold in this summer
Pickens is entering a contract year and may "hold in" if he doesn't have an extension before summer, The Athletic's Mike DeFabo reports. Pickens will turn 24 in March, after topping 800 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons. He hasn't quite reached the elite at his position, but his ability to make difficult, contested catches downfield is second to none, and there's no doubt his production has been negatively impacted by poor quarterback play in Pittsburgh. It's unclear if the QB situation will improve in 2025, potentially adding an extra element of frustration/contention to contract negotiations, which may already be difficult in light of Pickens' reputation for mercurial behavior and the gap between his production and his perceived talent/skill. The current CBA essentially eliminates holdouts, but if Pickens is unhappy this summer he could opt for a hold in, whereby he'd show up to the team facility but wouldn't practice.
Broderick Jones : Kicking over to left tackle
Speaking with the media Tuesday, Steelers GM Omar Khan said Jones will start the offseason at left tackle, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Since being selected with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2023 Draft, Jones has played just 129 snaps at left tackle and over 1,800 at right tackle. With 2024 first-rounder Troy Fautanu (knee) expected to have a normal offseason after dislocating his kneecap in Week 2 last season, Jones is ticketed for left-tackle duties, with Fautanu manning the right side for Pittsburgh.
Donald Parham : Signs with Pittsburgh
Parham signed a one-year contract with the Steelers on Friday. Parham went undrafted in 2019 but caught on with the Chargers a year later and ended up starting 23 of his 47 regular-season games from 2020 to 2023. He's the tallest tight end in the league, but perhaps also the thinnest, listed at 6-foot-8, 237 pounds. The Chargers put him to use near the goal line, with Parham recording 11 TDs among his 67 career receptions. He was released in August and then spent part of the season on Denver's practice squad, never appearing in a game. Parham will turn 28 shortly before the start of the 2025 campaign and has his work cut out for him to earn a roster spot.
Connor Heyward : Sees role diminished
Heyward appeared in 17 regular-season games for the Steelers in 2024, making six catches (on eight targets) for 40 yards and a touchdown. Heyward didn't get to see the field as much this past season as he did during his sophomore campaign. The Michigan State product saw his offensive snaps drop from 383 to 194, while his catch and yardage total also fell from the 23 receptions and 167 yards he totaled in 2023. As long as Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington remain healthy for the Steelers, Heyward's opportunities in their offense will likely remain limited.
MyCole Pruitt : Plays small role in 2024
Pruitt appeared in 12 regular-season games for Pittsburgh in 2024, making six catches (on 10 targets) for 40 yards and a touchdown. Pruitt suffered a multi-week absence due to a knee injury, leading to the lowest reception and yardage totals he's posted since 2020. The 31-year-old is set to be an unrestricted free agent this spring and with Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth likely entrenched as the top two tight ends for the Steelers, it's unclear if Pruitt is likely to be brought back, or if the team may look elsewhere for depth at the position.
