Freeland went 3-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the Diamondbacks. Freeland has gone 6-for-11 over his last four games. The infielder's steal was his first of the season. He's hitting .254 with a .705 OPS, three home runs, 12 RBI, 14 runs scored and five doubles across 131 plate appearances. Freeland is poised to continue serving in a strong-side platoon role at second base at least until Tommy Edman (ankle) is ready for his season debut, which is likely to come in the middle of June.

Alexander Freeland: Breaking News
Clubs third homer
Freeland went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Phillies. Freeland has started three of the Dodgers' last four games and appears to be the preferred strong-side platoon option at second base for now. The infielder had gone hitless in his first two games during this call-up, but Sunday's performance was his sixth multi-hit effort in 36 games this season. He's batting .236 with a .679 OPS, three homers, 10 RBI, 13 runs scored, five doubles and no stolen bases over 121 plate appearances on the year.
Seeing steady run at 2B
Freeland will start at second base and bat ninth in Sunday's game against the Phillies. Freeland has gone hitless in five at-bats since being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, but he'll crack the starting nine for the third time in four games nonetheless. With the Dodgers recently optioning Hyeseong Kim to Triple-A, Freeland should have a clear path to steady playing time at second base in the short term. However, Freeland's opportunities could take a hit once Tommy Edman (ankle) returns from the 60-day injured list, likely at some point in the next couple of weeks.
