Sheehan (3-2) took the loss Monday, allowing two runs on three hits and no walks over 6.1 innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out three. Sheehan was done in by the long ball late, as two of the three hits he allowed left the yard. Tommy Troy connected for a solo homer in the sixth inning before Nolan Arenado added another in the seventh frame, which ultimately proved enough to saddle Sheehan with the loss. Homers have been a recurring issue for the right-hander in 2026, as he has surrendered multiple long balls in four starts and allowed 11 total homers across 58 innings. The 26-year-old will carry a 4.50 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 62:14 K:BB across 11 starts into his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled for Sunday against the Angels.

George Sheehan: Breaking News
Averts injury, tosses quality start
Sheehan allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings in a no-decision against Colorado on Monday. Sheehan looked like he might have to exit the contest after getting hit on the right arm by a 103.8 mph comebacker in the fourth inning. He made several warmup throws and was visited by manager Dave Roberts twice in the frame but was ultimately allowed to remain in the contest. Sheehan proved to be fine, retiring seven of the final eight batters he faced. Overall, the right-hander registered 17 whiffs and eight punchouts en route to his fourth quality start of the campaign. It's been a bit of an up-and-down season for Sheehan, but he's seems to have established a stable role in Los Angeles' rotation. Through 10 starts, he has a 4.70 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 59:14 K:BB over 51.2 innings.
Struggles against Padres
Sheehan allowed four runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over four innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Tuesday. Sheehan gave up a pair of two-run home runs -- Manny Machado took him deep in the first inning and Miguel Andujar did the same in the third. This was the third time in nine outings Sheehan has given up multiple homers, and the four runs allowed matched a season high. He's given up 11 runs across 19.1 innings through four starts in May, though he has a 23:4 K:BB this month. Overall, the right-hander is at a 4.93 ERA, 1.2& WHIP and 51:13 K:BB through 45.2 innings this season. Sheehan will look to get back on track in his next start, which is tentatively projected to come at home versus the Rockies.
