Justin Wrobleski: Breaking News

Wrobleski (7-2) allowed a run on one hit and struck out nine without walking a batter over seven innings to earn the win over the Phillies on Friday. Wrobleski served up a solo shot to Kyle Schwarber in the sixth inning, but that was it. There were some ups and downs for Wrobleski in May -- he won three of five starts and allowed a total of 15 runs over 32.2 innings in those games. The southpaw's dominant outing Friday has him at a 2.87 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 40:14 K:BB through 62.2 innings over 10 appearances (nine starts) this season. His next start is projected to be on the road versus the Diamondbacks.

Wrobleski (6-2) was tagged with the loss Friday against the Brewers after allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out four. Wrobleski endured a rough start to the game, allowing four runs in the first inning, including a three-run shot to William Contreras. The lefty would allow just one run the rest of the way, but the damage was already done against one of the hottest offenses in the NL of late. Wrobleski has been trending in the wrong direction, giving up 14 runs (including three homers) in 19.2 frames over his past three outings. His next start should come next week in a favorable home matchup against the Rockies.

Wrobleski (6-1) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings to earn the win over the Angels on Saturday. Wrobleski allowed seven runs over 8.2 innings against Atlanta in his previous start. He kept the Angels off the board for five innings Saturday before allowing a two-run double to Jorge Soler in the sixth, but he shut things down in that frame to preserve the lead. Wrobleski has been a pleasant surprise early this season with a 2.49 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB across 50.2 innings through eight appearances (seven starts). The southpaw's starting role is safe as the Dodgers look set to temporarily transition to a five-man rotation in the absences of Tyler Glasnow (back) and Blake Snell (elbow). Wrobleski is projected to make his next start on the road at Milwaukee.
