Goran Reljic campaign as a middleweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship is set to continue this July at UFC 116.
The news was confirmed by MMAjunkie.com, who spoke to Reljic’s manager, Zoran Saric, earlier today.
Reljic jumped down from the light heavyweight division after two years away from the sport spent recovering from the heavy burdens of injury. However, C.B. Dolloway spoiled the return with a unanimous decision victory over the kickboxer at UFC 110 in Australia.
Prior to the two year layoff, the Croatian was being hyped as the next big mixed martial artist to hail from Croatia, with Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic being the country’s biggest MMA superstar. Now, at 8-1, Reljic will look to rebound from the disappointing upset against an opponent who has yet to be selected.
