Seth Petruzelli has been released from his UFC contract following two consecutive losses.
HeavyMMA.com confirmed the news with a source close to the promotion this morning.
Petruzelli’s last appearance in the Octagon was at UFC 122 earlier this month, where he was TKO’d by Karlos Vemola. The colorful Petruzelli’s return to the Octagon at UFC 116 had ended in a submission loss to Ricardo Romero.
Petruzelli’s claim to fame is his nationally televised victory over popular former backyard brawler Kimbo Slice. He joins Peter Sobotta and Goran Reljic as fighters released following losses at UFC 122.
