Grispi, Roop try to get back on track
A featherweight bout between Josh Grispi and George Roop is expected to take place at the Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale this summer.
Heavy.com has confirmed the fight booking with sources close to the bout. MMAJunkie.com passed along the news on Monday morning.
The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale takes place June 4 in Las Vegas at the Palms Casino Resort. As Heavy.com first reported, the event is headlined by a lightweight contender bout between Anthony Pettis and Clay Guida.
Grispi last appeared at UFC 125 in January in a losing effort to Dustin Poirier. Grispi had been scheduled to fight new UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo on the card, but when Aldo pulled out of the fight with an injury, Grispi opted not to wait and took the fight with Poirier instead. It was a bad decision in the end, as Poirier completely dismantled Grispi throughout the fight.
Roop lost to new top featherweight contender Mark Hominick at Fight for the Troops 2 in January. Hominick moves on to face Jose Aldo at UFC 129 in Toronto.
