“Mayhem” inks new UFC contract

Jason “Mayhem” Miller is returning to the UFC six years after a lone appearance against now-champion Georges St. Pierre.

HeavyMMA.com confirmed the news with sources close to the promotion. MMAFighting.com issued the initial report. Miller’s Strikeforce contract expired last month, enabling him to sign with the UFC. Miller becomes the first Strikeforce star to leave for the UFC since Zuffa purchased the promotion last month.

Miller’s debut bout in the UFC has yet to be determined, but he’s expected to face a top-shelf contender.

Miller’s last bout came in August against Kazushi Sakuraba at DREAM 16. He was scheduled to face Tim Kennedy at “Strikeforce: Columbus,” but was replaced by Melvin Manhoef. He hadn’t fought for Strikeforce since the now-infamous brawl with members of Team Cesar Gracie at a Strikeforce card in Nashville one year ago.

Miller is the host of MTV’s “Bully Beatdown”.
