Barao meets Pickett at UFC 138

UFC featherweights Renan Barao and Brad Pickett are set to meet at UFC 138 this November in the United Kingdom.

That news comes according to Gareth Davies at “The Telegraph,” who spoke to UFC president Dana White about the match up.

Pickett, a four-fight veteran of the WEC, last fought at the final World Extreme Cagefighting event, defeating Ivan Menjivar via unanimous decision on the evening’s preliminary card. Since the December win, Pickett has yet to fight and will see the inside of the UFC Octagon for the first time at this event.

Meanwhile, Barao has already stepped foot into the UFC cage, earning a unanimous decision victory over Cole Escovedo at UFC 130 this past May. The win was his sixteenth in a row and moved his professional record to an astounding 26-1.

UFC 138 will mark the first time the promotion will head to Great Britain in 2011, as the event is set for Birmingham on November 5. The headliner for the evening will be the UFC’s first five round non-title fight, and middleweights Chris Leben and Mark Munoz will be the two fighting in it.
