UFC 140 Heads To Toronto in December

UFC heads back to Canada

The UFC will head back to Toronto for the second time this year in December.

UFC 140 will be held at the Air Canada Centre on Dec. 10. The date was previously believed to be reserved for the UFC’s annual December trip to Montreal, but UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta confirmed the change of plans with ESPN.com on Tuesday night.

The UFC visited Toronto for the first time in April for UFC 129. The biggest event in UFC history saw Georges St-Pierre defend his welterweight title against Jake Shields in the main event. Over 55,000 people attended the spectacular event.

UFC 140 will take place at the Air Canada Centre instead of the Rogers Centre. The smaller arena seats just under 20,000 people.

The event will mark the UFC’s third trip to Canada in 2011.
