Barcelona will begin live without Lionel Messi on Tuesday when German club Bayer Leverkusen make the trip to Camp Nou looking to keep its lead atop Group E after a Matchday 1 win.
Messi will miss the next eight weeks with a ligament injury in his knee, though it doesn’t require surgery.
Barcelona is 5-2-1 all time against Bayer Leverkusen; the teams last met in the knockout stages in 2011/12 with Barcelona winning 10-2 on aggregate behind a five-goal Messi effort in the second leg.
