Two of South America’s up and coming football clubs meet Thursday on the road to returning to the World Cup. Both Chile and Colombia advanced out of the group stage lat year, and both were considered tournament surprises.

Backed by a strong defense, Chile pushed host nation Brazil to the brink before losing on penalties. Colombia scored nine goals in it’s three opening matches, and defeated Uruguay in the Round of 16 before falling to Brazil in the quarterfinals.

Colombia also gave the world a new star in James Rodriguez. Rodriguez scored six goals at the World Cup, earning his first adidas Golden Boot. Following the tournament, he signed a six-year deal to play for Spanish giant Real Madrid.
