The simple goal for players at the 2016 U.S. Open? Stay at par.
Doing so is likely to win them the second major of the year.
Featuring rough that will make your ball disappear, daunting “Church Pew” bunkers and icy-slick greens, Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania is well regarded as one of the most difficult golf courses in the world. It has hosted the U.S. Open eight times, most recently in 2007 when Angel Cabrera hoisted the trophy with a score of plus-five.
There’s going to be a lot of frustration, a lot of high scores and a lot of entertainment for those of us who don’t have to play it. Here’s a look at when and where to watch, as well as the field of players and updated odds:
