RIP Sean Rooks. Though never a star in the NBA, Rooks was a great roleplayer for a number of teams, a veteran presence always needed on a team.
That presence is on full display here, from a game during his tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers. The crux of the play may be Lamar Odom’s alley-oop pass to Darius Miles, who made the shot, but the play begins with Rooks’ perfect pass across the entire court. That kind of accuracy and awareness allowed Rooks to play in the NBA for 12 years and 8 different teams.
Rooks had been working as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers. He will be missed.
