Back in 2012 Jeremy Lin was a fringe NBA player out of Harvard who, while a member of the New York Knicks, was looking to do whatever it took to stick in the NBA. Lin took full advantage of the opportunity, with his run sparking the “Linsanity” movement that captivated the Knicks fan base. After time in Houston and Charlotte Lin is back in the New York metropolitan area, this time as the starting point guard for the Brooklyn Nets. Thursday’s game against the Knicks should bring back some memories of those days, including how he and Carmelo Anthony were unable to establish on-court chemistry while teammates.
New York will be playing their second game in as many nights, so it remains to be seen who head coach Jeff Hornacek will use in the team’s preseason finale. That’s one of just four games on the schedule for Thursday, which includes a matchup of two of the three teams that shared the Southeast Division title last season in Miami and Charlotte.
