On Friday night, the Chicago Cubs opened up a series with the Royals in Kansas City.
They won by a score of 6-4.
The two teams will resume action on Saturday night.

Cubs Announced Shaw Update
Ahead of their series with the Royals, the Cubs announced the latest update on Matt Shaw.
He has been out since June 27 with an injury.
MLB.com wrote (on August 7): “Travelled with Cubs to Kansas City to continue rehab. Recently resumed light hitting, but is building up intensity of his swings. Manager Craig Counsell said Shaw remains “weeks” away.”
Before getting hurt, Shaw had been batting .246 with 32 hits, four home runs, 20 RBIs, 20 runs and four stolen bases in 56 games.
According to the site, he could still return this month.
Shaw was the 13th pick in the 2023 MLB Draft.
He was an extremely notable prospect within the organization.
At just 24, Shaw has a lot of potential that has Cubs fans excited.
Looking At The Cubs Right Now
The Cubs are in the middle of a very strong 2026 season.
They come into Saturday as the second-place team in the National League Central with a 68-49 record in 117 games.
Over their last ten games, the Cubs have gone 7-3 (and they are 33-25 in 58 games on the road).
Following two more games with the Royals, the Cubs will remain on the road to visit the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night.
They have the day off on Monday.
