Chicago Cubs Announce Matt Shaw Update During Mariners Series

On Friday night, the Chicago Cubs opened up a series with the Seattle Mariners in Washington.

The Cubs lost by a score of 6-5.

Also on Friday, the Cubs announced the latest update on Matt Shaw.

MLB.com wrote (on August 21): “Opened rehab assignment with Triple-A Iowa on Aug. 19. Set to play again Aug. 21. Manager Craig Counsell said Shaw will play multiple games this week with the goal of playing back-to-back the following week.”

According to the site, he could return this month (or next).

Before getting hurt, Shaw had been batting .246 with 32 hits, four home runs, 20 RBIs, 20 runs and four stolen bases in 56 games.
