Houston Astros Announce Roster Move Before Angels Game

On Friday, the Houston Astros played the Los Angeles Angels (at home) in Texas.

The Astros lost by a score of 6-2.

Before the game, the Astros announced that they had made a roster move.

Brian McTaggart of MLB.com wrote: “César Salazar has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Sugar Land. Salazar was designated for assignment by the Astros on Wednesday.”

Salazar is coming off a season where he appeared in 11 games for the Astros.

He also played 47 games in Triple-A, batting .213 with five home runs and 18 RBI’s.

Looking At The Astros

The Astros are now 0-2 to start the new season.

After two more games against the Angels, they will remain at home to host the Boston Red Sox with the series starting on March 30.

Last season, the Astros missed the MLB playoffs after going 87-75.
