The Milwaukee Brewers are coming off a magical 2026 season.
They won their first ever World Series title when they beat the Tampa Bay Rays in five games.
ESPN’s Jeff Passan wrote (on October 28): “FINAL: Brewers 4, Rays 1 For the first time, the Milwaukee Brewers are World Series champions. They did it for Milwaukee, they did it for Wisconsin, they did it for Ueck, they did it for themselves. This was 57 years in the making. And it was pure, beautiful, dominant baseball.”
Ex-Brewers 35-Home Run Hitter Becomes Free Agent

This week, a former Brewers star officially became a free agent.
Rowdy Tellez (most recently with the Atlanta Braves) will be available to sign with any team in the MLB.
MLB.com wrote (on October 29): “1B Rowdy Tellez elected free agency.”

Tellez appeared in seven regular season games for the Braves.
He also played in three MLB playoff games (the Braves lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS).
Looking At Tellez’s Time With The Brewers

Tellez spent part of three seasons playing for the Brewers.
He had been acquired in a trade (via the Toronto Blue Jays) in 2021.
MLB.com wrote (on July 6, 2021): “Toronto Blue Jays traded 1B Rowdy Tellez to Milwaukee Brewers for RHP Bowden Francis and RHP Trevor Richards.”
During the 2022 season, Tellez had the best year of his MLB career when he hit 35 home runs with 89 RBIs in 153 games for the Brewers.

Tellez has also had stops with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays over nine seasons in the MLB.
It will be interesting to see where he lands before the start of the 2027 season.
The 31-year-old has hit 123 career home runs in 783 games.
