Milwaukee Brewers Release Unlucky 24-Year-Old Player

Prior to their final game against the Braves, the Brewers released a player.
According to the MiLB Transactions Log, the Brewers announced the release of Timmerman: “Wilson Warbirds released RHP Josh Timmerman.”
Timmerman is a 24-year-old pitcher. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound player was a 2023 Brewers draft selection.
Looking at Josh Timmerman

Timmerman has had one of the most unlucky seasons.
The young hurler suffered an injury in 2025. He was initially put on the 7-day IL before being transferred to the 60-day IL. Timmerman was eventually activated in November 2025.
Then, the 2026 season happened.
In mid-March, he was placed on the 60-day IL. Timmerman was eventually put on the full-season injured list at the end of July.
Then, the Brewers released him on August 22nd.
Milwaukee Brewers & Their Magic Numbers

The Brewers have a magic number of 19 to clinch a playoff spot.
However, if the Brewers want to win the National League, they need to secure 30 wins over the rest of the season. They have 32 games left.
The first of those is tonight’s game against the Braves.
The Brewers are currently the top team in the NL Central, with the Chicago Cubs in second, the St. Louis Cardinals in third, the Pittsburgh Pirates in fourth, and the Cincinnati Reds in fifth.
Of those teams, the Brewers have the best record over the last 10 games (7-3).
The Brewers are two wins ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers for the top team in the National League. Additionally, they are four wins ahead of the top team in the American League, which is the Tampa Bay Rays.
Sunday night’s game is the first step towards total domination for the Brewers. They were the first team to hit 80 wins.
Now, they are well on their way to being the first team to 90 wins, and possibly even more.
