The Brewers have been without one of their most important players, as Christian Yelich has been out since April 12.

Recently, the Brewers announced the latest update on the former MVP.
Via MLB.com: “Plan calls for the veteran DH to progress to live at-bats and baserunning by early in the week of May 10. He would like to avoid a rehab assignment, but that is to be determined. (last updated: May 6)”
According to the site, he is supposed to return later this month.
Before getting hurt, Yelich had been batting .314 with six hits, one home run, ten RBI’s, ten runs and three stolen bases in 15 games.

Yelich was picked in the first round of the 2010 MLB Draft.
He is in his ninth season playing for the Brewers after his first five with the Miami Marlins.
The 34-year-old made the All-Star Game as recently as 2024, and is still a very valuable player for the franchise.
Over 1,631 career games, Yelich is batting .285 with 1,757 hits, 234 home runs, 861 RBI’s, 1,043 runs and 224 stolen bases.

The Brewers are 18-16 in their first 34 games, which has them as the fourth-place team in the National League Central.
They are 5.0 games back of the Chicago Cubs for the top spot.
Following their series with the Cardinals, the Brewers will head home to host Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees on Friday night in Milwaukee.
Last season, the Brewers lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 NLCS.
The franchise last reached the World Series in 1982.
