The New York Yankees are riding a five-game winning streak into Saturday after winning their series opener against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ahead of the matchup, which will feature Blue Jays right-handed ace Dylan Cease and Yankees left-hander Ryan Weathers, manager Aaron Boone made a few changes to New York’s lineup, including one involving infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr.

New York left Chisholm Jr. out of the starting lineup for the series opener, but he logged three at-bats as a pinch-hitter after replacing Amed Rosario.
For Saturday’s game, the two-time All-Star will return to the starting lineup. However, he’ll continue to slide down the order as he bats seventh and starts at second base.

Chisholm Jr.’s 2026 Season
It’s been a down year for the 28-year-old in his seventh MLB season and second with the Yankees.
He simply hasn’t found much of a rhythm at the plate and enters Saturday batting .214 across 119 games and 415 at-bats. He has recorded 58 runs, 89 hits, 17 home runs, and 49 RBIs while slugging .386 with a .680 OPS.
Yankees Right Now
New York is 73-55 overall and continues to close the gap on the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East. The Yankees now sit just 3.0 games behind Tampa Bay after the Rays’ loss Friday.
If the season ended today, New York would hold the top Wild Card spot and host a best-of-three series in the Bronx against the Boston Red Sox.
