The Philadelphia Phillies have made a move, as they have announced that they have acquired outfielder Steward Berroa from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash considerations. The Phillies also has shared that Berroa has been optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley following the move.

In addition, the Phillies have also designated pitcher Yoniel Curet for assignment to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for Berroa.

Berroa appeared in two games during this past season with the Brewers, where he had one stolen base and went 0-for-5 at the plate. This was after he played in his first 28 major league games during the 2024 season with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he had one double, six stolen bases, seven hits, and a .189 batting average.
