Blas Castaño: Breaking News

Castano was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday. Castano will return to the big-league club just a few days after being sent down to Albuquerque on Monday. The right-hander will replace Sammy Peralta in the Rockies' bullpen after Peralta was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Castano was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports. Castano was brought up to the big leagues Sunday and allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three over 2.1 frames against the Diamondbacks. He'll return to Triple-A where he'll serve as organizational bullpen depth.

The Rockies recalled Castano from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. The right-hander was up with the Rockies for a doubleheader in late April but returned to Triple-A without appearing in a game. Castano has been very effective at Albuquerque this year with just two runs allowed and a 12:7 K:BB across 16.1 innings.
