For Jokic, that wasn’t his first fine in the mail.

In 2018, Jokic received a fine after a late October victory against the Chicago Bulls.

According to the NBA announcement, Jokic used derogatory and offensive language, which led to a $25,000 fine. That was Jokic’s fourth year in the NBA.

In 2021, the NBA issued Jokic a suspension for shoving the veteran Markieff Morris from behind in a game against the Miami Heat. The league didn’t issue Jokic a fine, but the veteran center was suspended without pay. It was estimated that he lost over $200,000 due to the incident.

During the 2022-2023 NBA season, Jokic was hit with another $25,000 fine. The league described his actions as making improper contact with a spectator.

The incident made major headlines, considering the spectator was Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia, who was sitting courtside.

Nikola Jokic’s biggest fine from the NBA was delivered on April 26, 2026. Being the one who initiated the late-game scuffle between the Nuggets and the Timberwolves, Jokic picked up the heftier sum, compared to Julius Randle.

According to the NBA’s official announcement, Jokic was hit with a $50,000 fine. While that’s a large number, Jokic dodged a bullet as his decision could’ve led to a one-game suspension, which would’ve held him out for the win-or-go-home Game 5 on Monday night.
