Another game, another milestone is in the books for the Denver Nuggets veteran Jamal Murray. Following the Friday night 135-129 victory over the Utah Jazz, the Nuggets’ sharpshooter earned himself what Nikola Jokic simply considers a reward.
Murray has the most three-pointers in a single season for the Nuggets, beating out his former teammate, Michael Porter Jr.
As Jokic watches his longtime teammate continue to thrive throughout the 2025-2026 NBA season, he wants to see Murray earn another accolade he hasn’t landed yet.

“With how the league is going, I think the three-point shot is really important. I think it’s a reward for [Jamal Murray] playing really well the last two, three years and this season,” Jokic said of Murray on Friday night.
“He kind of gets rewarded with All-Star, this and that, and the records, maybe All-NBA teams, who knows? I think he played really well the last two, three years, and this is just a reward for him.”
Jokic is hopeful for an All-NBA bid for Murray.
Back when Murray was a rookie for the Nuggets, he earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2017. It was clear at the time that the seventh-overall pick out of Kentucky had a bright future in Denver.
But Jokic wants to see the numbers allow for Murray to add more accolades to his resume.
In 2023, Murray was a first-time NBA Champion. That was and remains his top team accolade. As far as personal ones go, Murray landed an All-Star acknowledgement for the first time in 2026.
Leading up to All-Star weekend, Murray was shooting 48.5% from the field and 42.5% from three, averaging 25.7 points per game. He was also producing 7.6 assists per game, along with 4.4 rebounds per game.
Since the Nuggets returned from the break, Murray has appeared in 26 games. He’s hitting on 39.6% of his shots from beyond the arc, producing 25.1 points per game. Murray is also posting 6.8 assists per game, along with 4.5 rebounds per game.
Being an All-Star, Murray should surely land some serious consideration to get on an All-NBA team. The forward has seven more games to build on his case.
