Golden State Warriors Announce Massive Injury Report For Spurs Game

On Wednesday night, the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs will face off at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

For the game, the Warriors have announced a very long injury report.

Golden State Warriors Announce Massive Injury Report

UPDATE: Gary Payton II and Gui Santos were both ruled out.

The Warriors have ruled out Jimmy Butler, Steph Curry, Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody, Kristaps Porzingis and Quinten Post.

Gary Payton II and Gui Santos are both listed as questionable.

Santos And Payton II This Season

Santos is in the middle of his third NBA season (all with Golden State).

He is averaging 8.9 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest while shooting 50.6% from the field and 35.6% from three-point range in 64 games.

ESPN’s Shams Charania wrote (on February 28): “Golden State Warriors forward Gui Santos has signed a three-year, $15 million contract extension with the franchise, sources tell ESPN. The deal includes a player option in 2028-29.”

Payton II is in the middle of his tenth NBA season.

The 2022 NBA Champion is averaging 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 57.7% from the field and 30.8% from three-point range in 67 games.

He has also spent time playing for the Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Spurs And Warriors Ahead Of Clash

Injuries continues to be the story for Golden State, as they come into the night with a 36-39 record in 75 games.

They have won four out of their last ten games (and are 21-15 at home).

After they play the Spurs, the Warriors will have another tough challenge when they remain at home to host James Harden and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.

ESPN Insights Wrote: “The Spurs visit the Warriors tonight as the hottest team in the NBA 🔥

San Antonio has won nine games in a row and went 25-2 across February and March. They are the fifth team in NBA history to win 90 percent of their games across the two months in a season.”

The Spurs are the second seed with a 57-18 record in 75 games.

They have won nine in a row.
