At the end of the final Western Conference NBA Play-In game on Friday, Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker and Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green shared a moment, which led to double-ejections.
For Green, getting in hot water with the referees isn’t anything out of the ordinary. The fact that he got a rise out of Booker was far from shocking.
At the end of the day, no hard feelings were created in the moment. Following the game, Devin Booker was asked about the moment. The playoff-bound superstar downplayed the incident to reporters.
Devin Booker Speaks On The Draymond Green Incident
“Nothing, man. I’ve been there before, and I understand the situation,” Booker told the media. “My big brother used to beat me in NBA Live back in the day, and I’d throw a fit. He’s a competitor. He loves the sport. It’s like I said, he wants to be in those environments, and he’s been in them before.”
Both teams’ seasons were on the line on Friday night. The Warriors got to that game by winning a tightly-contested battle against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Suns landed in Friday’s game as a result of a disappointing loss against the Portland Trail Blazers. Looking at it from a seeding perspective, the better team won on Friday.
But Green had to go out with a bang. Considering the Warriors entered the 2025-2026 NBA season with major expectations of becoming a championship contender, falling into the NBA Play-In Tournament and getting eliminated was a difficult reality to grasp.
The Suns Are Going To The Playoffs
Booker checked into Friday’s game for 42 minutes. He shot 5-12 from the field and made all 10 of his free throws. Booker contributed 20 points, along with eight assists and six rebounds.
The Suns took out the Warriors with a score of 111-96.
Golden State enters the offseason with plenty of question marks. Meanwhile, the Suns will keep on rolling with a first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
